Petition

It is my understanding there is a petition going around asking for a referendum on the $1.5M loan the BOSs approved.  This loan is to be paid back by tax revenue we will receive after the first of the year.

This is very interesting to me.  At one of the recent Board of Supervisors' Meetings, it was stated that we are not on the hook for the $20M for the Schultz and GreenTech plants.  You know what we are on the hook for?  $3.2M in bonds for Schultz; $4.2 in bonds for GreenTech and $850K in bonds for Fuerer.  We have to pay this money back.

So, where were you when these expenses were being added to our debt?  I know where I was.  I was trying to find out what our real financial picture looked like.

Let's be clear: The previous Board of Supervisors is responsible for the $3.2M for Schultz and the $4.2M for GreenTech.  The current BOS is responsible for the $850K.

You don't want to borrow the $1.5M that is to be paid back by the tax revenue we receive in 2015?  Great.  Then you can be responsible for Tunica County not being able to pay our bills.  You can be responsible for employees being laid off.  Is this the extent you are willing to go to prove the Beat 2 Supervisor correct?

Finally, we are getting to the bottom of our financial crisis and all you can come up with is a petition that will result in Tunica County not being able to pay our bills?
