"Casino appeals county budget, tax increase"

After reading the above article on the front page of the Tunica Times, I decided to do a bit of research.

It was my understanding that the County budget had to be approved by the BOS by the 15th of Sep each year.  Looked it up and there it was: MS Code Ann. 19-11-11

"The Board of Supervisors, not later than September 15th, shall then, by resolution, approve and adopt the budget as finally determined..."

So, it seems to me that the BOS was correct in approving the budget by the 15th of Sep.
