Goodbye gaming; Hello taxes

If you didn’t attend the Community Information Session on 4 Mar 2015, please go by the County Administrator’s office and ask for a copy. 

What will become apparent to you in this report is that when gaming revenue began to decline, there was not an offsetting tax increase to maintain the same amount of income to pay our bills.  This is true in the County and in the Town of Tunica. 

For the County, there is also our huge amount of debt.  But for now, let’s just think about declining revenue equals increased taxes to maintain the level of services we have become use to having.
